We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategic Accounting Manager or Financial Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our organization in Dane County. This critical leadership role will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and budgeting. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing financial strategies and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely transactions and accurate financial reporting.

• Manage payroll operations using Paylocity, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and timely payroll processing.

• Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

• Develop and manage annual budgets, monitor performance against forecasts, and provide insights to guide decision-making.

• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Utilize Epicor software to streamline financial processes and improve reporting accuracy.

• Prepare and deliver financial reports to senior leadership, highlighting key metrics and recommending improvements.

• Collaborate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and responses to support audits.

• Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but work experience is the most important.

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.

• Proficiency with Epicor software and Paylocity payroll systems is highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting standards.

• Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

• Familiarity with U.S. payroll laws and compliance requirements.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
