RN Clinical Document Improvement Specialist

Position OverviewFacilitates improvement in the quality, completeness, and accuracy of clinical documentation. Obtains appropriate clinical documentation through extensive interaction with physicians, nursing and other patient care givers and the Health Information Management coding staff to ensure that the complete and accurate level of services provided is documented and that appropriate reimbursement is received for patients with a DRG, MS-DRG, APR or All-Payer based grouper. Educates members of the patient care team on documentation guidelines on an ongoing basis. Works closely with coding manager.

Clinical Documentation Improvement, UHS Revenue Cycle Operations
Work Shift and Schedule:
This is a per diem position, which means you will work on an as needed, agreed upon basis. Working hours will be assigned by your manager.
Compensation Range:
$33.63 - $50.45 per hour, depending on experience
This position is not eligible for benefits.

Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
+ Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN) or Nursing Diploma.
Preferred:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
+ Working knowledge of encoding system and Excel.
+ Previous Coding experience.
License/Certification
Minimum Required:
+ Valid NYS RN licensure or eligible.
