Safety Engineer 1455990 * Hourly pay: $55/hr * Worksite: Leading university (Stanford, CA 94305 - Onsite) * W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program, PSL * 40 hours/week, 9 Month Assignment A leading university is seeking a Safety Engineer. The successful candidate will work closely with Health and Safety staff and the Maintenance and Operations (M&O) trades to create safety protocols, procedures, and special assignments. Safety Engineer Responsibilities: * Work closely with M&O management staff to recognize, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions, behaviors, and work practices. * Recommend appropriate containment and corrective actions for hazard control design, methods, procedures, and processes for all machines used in M&O. * Develop draft safety procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out, Confined Space, Machine Guarding, Hazardous Waste Management, Mechanical Room Management, etc. * Evaluate all system safety requirements and develop a quality control system for M&O management. Safety Engineer Qualifications: * 1-5 years of safety engineering experience. * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Safety Engineering. * Experience in process safety, systems safety, or related areas preferred. Shift: * Monday to Friday 8 am - 5 am.
