Job Title: Phlebotomist II - Flowery Branch and Oakwood - 2 openings

Job Description

The primary role of a Phlebotomist II is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, decontaminate, and update patient information.

+ Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.

+ Clearly explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections, such as urine or fecal, in a courteous manner.

+ Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles, and fully understand all of the physicians' orders.

+ Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.

+ Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.

+ Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels match the script accurately.

+ Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature.

+ Place samples in the appropriate collection container or tube, accurately label them, and follow procedures for transport to maintain specimen integrity.

+ Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.

+ Attend annual department trainings.

+ Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Essential Skills

2-4+ years of recent phlebotomy experience in a clinical environment

Experience with blood draw and hard stick - pediatric to geriatric

Must draw with straight needle venipuncture

Excellent customer service

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

High School Diploma or GED

Work Environment

The 2 positions are located in Flowery Branch, GA and Oakwood, GA. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, with a 1-hour lunch break. The role involves performing over 30+ draws daily, working both independently and as part of a team, primarily drawing and processing samples from adults, although experience with all ages is beneficial. This is a non-smoking site.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Flowery Branch, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
