We are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to enhance our design and manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will work closely with Welders and Weld Engineers to establish proper welding techniques and qualifications, utilizing AWS and associated welding procedures. You will play a critical role in improving products, reducing costs, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Responsibilities
+ Identify and recommend design or manufacturing changes and enhancements.
+ Collaborate with Welders and Weld Engineers to establish proper welding techniques and qualifications.
+ Utilize AWS and other associated welding procedures, with experience in Tech Pub 278 preferred.
+ Determine technical objectives for quality assurance and approaches to project completion.
+ Create or recommend design, dimensional, or manufacturing process changes to improve products and reduce costs.
+ Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating product precision and equipment accuracy.
+ Participate in functional testing and/or inspection of equipment and systems.
+ Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction per AS9100.
+ Implement solutions to complex problems both internally and at vendor facilities.
+ Prepare statistical analysis reports, specifications, and other technical documents.
+ Interpret and adapt quality standards and government regulations.
+ Act as the company contact with suppliers, customers, and regulatory personnel to resolve quality issues.
+ Deliver technical presentations.
+ Provide project direction to other staff members.
+ Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and applicable obligations.
+ Work safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Essential Skills
+ 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 11 years with an Associate's degree.
+ Prior industry experience from Shipbuilding/shipyards.
+ Thorough understanding of welding procedures, qualifications, and technical requirements.
+ Strong knowledge of inspection methods, computer operations, and applications.
+ AWS and other Welding Procedures experience.
+ Experience with quality systems, specifically AS9100.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Analytical ability to develop creative solutions to complex quality issues.
+ Ability to accurately prepare statistical reports and technical documents.
+ Strong leadership skills to direct staff and maintain project costs and schedules.
+ Ability to deliver effective technical presentations.
+ Willingness to work extended hours as required.
Work Environment
This position is onsite at the Tupelo, MS location, working cross-functionally with the welding team to establish proper welding techniques and qualifications. The role requires adherence to safety standards and may involve extended hours.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $67.00/hr.
