Description
We are looking for a Syndicated Loan Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Chicago, Illinois. This role involves managing financial transactions and ensuring compliance with legal agreements while maintaining high standards of organization and accuracy. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
• Process loan activities, including fundings, repricings, and payments, in accordance with credit agreements.
• Calculate and track interest and fee accruals across varying rate levels and lender distributions.
• Reconcile daily cash transactions to ensure accurate funding and payment activity.
• Analyze and interpret complex legal credit agreements, collaborating with attorneys when necessary.
• Facilitate and verify automated fund movements based on client and lender instructions.
• Monitor overdue principal, interest, and fees, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
• Update and maintain margin changes while communicating updates to relevant bank groups.
• Provide requested information to clients, business partners, and lenders while maintaining clear communication.
• Perform quality control checks on new deals, restructures, and amendments to ensure compliance with credit agreements.
• Participate in system testing and support special projects as needed, including administrative tasks tied to credit agreements.
Requirements • Minimum of 2 years experience in account management handling multiple projects.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to take effective and detailed notes.
• Experience in syndicated loan processes is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting legal documents and agreements.
• Familiarity with accounting principles; prior accounting experience is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required with proven relevant experience.
• Ability to manage deadlines during peak periods, such as month-end and quarter-end cycles.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, lenders, and business partners.
