    Special Education Teacher | $65/hr | Crestwood, IL | Full-Time | Grades 1–12 | 1-Year Contract

     

    Amergis Educational Staffing is hiring three full-time Special Education Teachers for a highly supportive program in the Crestwood, IL area. These roles begin with New Hire Training on either December 2–11, 2025 or January 12–23, 2026, and run through the full 2025–2026 school year.

    Position Details

    + Location: Crestwood, IL

    + Start Date: December 2, 2025 or January 12, 2026

    + Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–3:30pm

    + Hours: 37.5 paid hours/week (includes 30-min paid break)

    + Pay Rate: $65/hr

    + Modality: In-person only

    + Contract Length: 1 year

    Program Assignments

    + Transition Program (ages 18–22):

    + 7 students per class

    + Focus on life skills and functional independence

    + SPED teacher + dedicated TA + 1:1 paras

    + High School Autism Program:

    + 4 students currently, max 6

    + SPED teacher + TA + 3–4 paras

    + Cross-Categorical High School Program:

    + Self-contained classroom

    + Mix of physical disabilities and behavioral needs

     

    All classrooms are part of a specialized program with strong interdisciplinary support from SLPs, BCBAs, PTs, OTs, RNs, RBTs, and social workers.

    Requirements

    + Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement

    + Experience supporting students with behavioral needs

    + Completion of TB test, fingerprinting, and Faith’s Law compliance

    + Minimum age: 18
