    Job Summary

    The **College of Nursing** is hiring for a **Clinical Supervisor** to provide professional nursing support and direct patient care following established standards and practices.

    Essential Functions

    Attends Clinical Associate Orientation and associated meetings.

     

    + Supervises and teaches students in the assigned clinical area, encouraging critical thinking and clinical judgment.

    + Evaluates student paperwork and provides written feedback in a timely manner as designated by course faculty.

    + Completes formative evaluations of each student on a weekly basis.

    + Completes summative evaluations of each student at end of rotation.

    + UpholdsAUCON and AU policies included in student handbook.

    + Promotes positive relationships with clinical facilities.

    + Adheres to and uphold all clinical agency policies and procedures.

    + Serves as a role model for professional behavior.

    + Maintains ongoing communication with course faculty, health care facility staff, and students.

    + Demonstrates clinical expertise in area of clinical instruction.

    + Attends Faculty Organization meetings as a non-voting member, if desired.

    + Performs other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

    + 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care facility.

     

    Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications

    Minimum Skills and Abilities

    + Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization, with awareness of related fields.

    + Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of nursing.

    + Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures.

     

    Minimum Technology Skills

    Minimum License and Certifications

    + Required valid Alabama nursing license.

    + Required valid nursing license in the state where clinical supervision will occur.
