**CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANTS (CNA) / PATIENT CARE TECHNICIANS (PCT)** at UW Medical Center – Montlake work at the patients' bedsides and take care of basic patient care needs. PCTs support and interdisciplinary team of nurses, physicians, and other medical staff in caring for patients in need of physical and medical health care.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse
+ Assist patients with activities of daily living: bathing, showering, dressing, getting in and out of bed or a chair, walking, using the toilet, and eating
+ Help maintain a safe environment of care
+ Prepare patients for surgery
+ Provide close observation for patients needing constant monitoring
+ Patient transportation
+ Assist with maintenance of equipment and supplies
+ Perform various clerical tasks
+ Take vital signs
+ PCTs may serve in several roles, including, Constant Observer and General Unit PCT
+ **Our Patient Care Services units with current opportunities include:** **7NE ONCOLOGY:** _7NE is an acute care inpatient unit providing care for adults with leukemia, lymphoma, and those who are receiving blood or marrow transplants (BMT) through the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Care provided includes initial diagnosis through end of life care. Patients requiring outpatient infusions or injections may be seen on Saturday, Sunday or holidays._
+ 80% FTE / DAYS - MON - THURS - 9am - 5:30pm
+ **REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) with WA State (please indicate your NA-C credential number on your resume)
+ High School graduation and six months experience involving direct patient care or customer service in a health care setting; OR equivalent education/experience.
+ Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card upon hire.
