Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician Purchasing Agent oversees the procurement and storage of medications, supplies, and equipment. This individual is responsible for accurate purchase order development, invoice maintenance, acting upon drug recalls, drug shortages and resolution, and returning of expired medications. Additionally, the Technician Purchasing Agent is responsible for inventory management, keeping accurate records that meet financial and regulatory requirements, inter-department billing, and other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

+ Technician license/certification with the applicable state Board of Pharmacy

+ Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPHT-Adv, Ex CPT, or national equivalent accredited by NCCA) is required. ASHP certificates are preferred

+ High school diploma or equivalent. Associate or Bachelor’s degree is preferred

+ Two years of Pharmacy Technician II experience is required

+ As defined in competencies; ability to work accurately with attention to detail
