    Duties Description Hutchings Psychiatric Center (HPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), to join their team. Positions are available on day and evening shifts, including every other weekend. No previous psychiatric experience is required.LPNs at HPC are part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on providing compassionate care and patient-centered and recovery-focused mental health services to individuals with serious mental illness.LPNs at HPC, under the direction of a RN:• Perform nursing care tasks consistent with individual treatment plans• Administer medication• Attend to individuals’ personal care needs including daily living and hygiene tasksAbout HPC:HPC is a comprehensive, community-based mental health facility serving individuals from the Central New York region. HPC is committed to supporting underserved individuals, organizations, and communities along with activities and initiatives to reduce disparities in access, quality, and treatment for underserved populations.

     

    Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Licensed Practical Nurse if they have:A license and current registration to practice as a practical nurse in New York State; or a limited permit to practice as a practical nurse in New York State; or an application on file for a limited permit to practice as a practical nurse in New York State.OR Candidates within State Service can be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

If you fail to maintain your license and registration once you are appointed to Licensed Practical Nurse, action will be taken to remove you from the position.2. In order to be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program).
