As a **Security Officer - Unarmed Government Site** in **Springfield, IL** , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure and welcoming environment for all visitors and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will help to deter security-related incidents, while your commitment to exceptional customer service and strong communication will enhance daily interactions. What You'll Do:

+ Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.

+ Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.

+ Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.

+ Observe and report any irregularities, such as security-related breaches, property damage, or unusual activity, according to established protocols.

+ Communicate clearly and promptly with Allied Universal management and/or local law enforcement as required.

+ Assist visitors and employees by providing information and directions while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.

+ Follow all instructions and guidelines provided by Allied Universal for working in government locations.

Minimum Requirements:

+ At least one year of security-related experience is required.

+ Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.

+ Customer service experience is preferred.

+ A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.

+ Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.

+ Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

+ Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

+ Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

+ A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
