Join a dynamic team as a phlebotomist where you will play a crucial role in patient care and laboratory operations. This position offers the opportunity to work with one of the world's largest diagnostics companies, emphasizing customer service and precision in blood draws and specimen processing.

Responsibilities

+ Perform blood draws on patients of all ages, with a primary focus on venipuncture.

+ Process, centrifuge, and split specimens for analysis.

+ Enter and manage orders using the LabCorp Touch system.

+ Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction.

+ Engage in data entry and maintain accurate medical records.

+ Collaborate with doctor offices for order confirmations and inquiries.

+ Ensure the cleanliness and restocking of workstations.

+ Participate in a busy, high-volume environment, completing around 120 draws daily.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in phlebotomy, including venipuncture and blood collection.

+ Experience with centrifuge operations and specimen processing.

+ Strong data entry skills and familiarity with medical records management.

+ Excellent customer service abilities.

+ Experience with geriatric and pediatric patients is preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Externship experience with a fast-paced learning capacity.

+ Previous hospital experience or geriatric patient care experience is advantageous.

+ CPT and BLS certifications are ideal.

+ At least one year of active phlebotomy experience is highly preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment is a patient service center, with coverage hours ranging from 4:45 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The role requires flexibility in shifts and the ability to float between five locations, from Manhattan Beach to Newport Beach. The position involves standing for approximately 50% of the time and working alongside another phlebotomist. Training is conducted over two weeks, with the first week being a full-time commitment. Training locations include Wildomar, Tustin, and Los Angeles, with accommodations provided if necessary. The dress code is typical for a laboratory and medical setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tustin, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.11 - $23.11/hr.
