    Job Title: Controls EngineerJob Description

     

    We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to provide technical support and coverage for equipment within our facility, focusing on electrical, control, and PLC subsystems. The role involves troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment and executing automation and control projects to enhance equipment capacity and process efficiency.

    Responsibilities

    + Provide technical support for electrical, control, and PLC subsystems within the facility.

    + Troubleshoot complex manual, semi-automated, and automated manufacturing equipment.

    + Execute small to medium manufacturing projects, including machine automation and PLC control projects.

    + Support equipment purchases, ensuring adherence to established electrical and control system standards.

    + Collaborate with vendors on tooling and process improvements for new or existing applications.

    + Mentor process specialists, engineers, and technicians to enhance knowledge of electrical, controls, and machine design.

    + Partner with maintenance, engineering, and tool room teams to address equipment and process issues.

    + Program numerical code and PLC-controlled metal fabrication, assembly, finishing, and manufacturing equipment.

    + Assist in validation activities within the engineering team, including equipment qualifications and process validations.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in PLC programming and controls engineering.

    + Experience with Allen-Bradley, Fanuc programming, Siemens PLC, and vision systems.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

    + 6+ years of experience in Controls Engineering.

    + Experience with mechanical, electrical, and P&ID documentation.

    + Strong background in Industrial Automation Application/Software.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with Rockwell Automation software is highly preferred.

    + Familiarity with Inductive Automation Ignition, Siemens Step 7-Micro/WIN, and Rockwell Automation Connected Components Workbench.

    + Knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio, Python, Qt Designer, and FANUC Robot Programming.

    + Experience in industrial equipment hardwire design.

    + Proficiency in Cleco mProRemote Professional, Cognex In-Sight Explorer & Datamax.

    + Familiarity with Keyence SZ-V Configurator and Automation Direct C-more Programming Software.

    + Computer Networking skills, including Wireshark and CISCO switch configuration.

    Work Environment

    This position operates within a manufacturing environment with work hours from 4pm to 2:30am, Monday through Thursday. There is no travel required.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Portage, MI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $67.00/hr.
