Job Title: ChemistJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Chemist to join our laboratory team. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness of the laboratory, performing various chemical analyses, and supporting the quality assurance process. As a Chemist, you will have the opportunity to grow within a small, close-knit team while enjoying the benefits of being part of a larger organization.

Responsibilities

+ Clean the laboratory by emptying trash, wiping countertops, cleaning sinks, sweeping, and mopping floors.

+ Clean scales, hoods, and the refrigerator on a weekly basis.

+ Review laboratory notebooks of fellow chemists promptly.

+ Perform wet chemical and instrumental analysis of blends using established methods.

+ Conduct microbial plate count testing as needed.

+ Review, approve, and interpret data before reporting to Quality Assurance.

+ Maintain laboratory notebooks and other documentation accurately.

+ Assist in creating and reviewing reformulation calculations before submission to production.

+ Support Quality Assurance with paperwork, forms, and standard operating procedures.

+ Complete weekly inventory of analytical standards, solvents, pH buffers, and microbial plates.

+ Assist with annual preventive maintenance of laboratory instruments.

+ Coordinate with the deionized water equipment supplier for service and repairs.

Essential Skills

+ 0-2 years of experience in a chemistry laboratory.

+ Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Biology, or equivalent lab experience.

+ Experience with routine lab and analytical operations.

+ Knowledge of GC and HPLC preferred.

+ Understanding of algebraic calculations and weights and measurements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in quality control processes.

Work Environment

You will work within a small laboratory team, currently consisting of one other individual. We are looking to expand by adding two more members. The work hours are flexible, allowing you to start anytime between 6:30 am and 7:30 am and work for 8.5 hours a day, including a lunch break. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elwood, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
