Description

Robert Half has an opening for a Helpline Counselor. This position requires the candidate to be bilingual in Creole. The role is based in North Miami and offers a great opportunity for someone looking to make a meaningful impact.

Details:

+ Training: First 90 days are in-person to receive certification.

+ Schedule: Multiple shifts available — day, evening, and overnight.

Responsibilities:

+ Respond to incoming calls and assist individuals in crisis while maintaining a calm and supportive demeanor.

+ Communicate effectively in both Creole and English to support a diverse population.

+ Accurately translate and document information to ensure clear communication and proper record-keeping.

+ Participate in training sessions focused on suicide prevention and crisis intervention techniques.

+ Use data entry skills to maintain organized and detailed records of interactions.

+ Collaborate with team members to develop strategies for improving caller experiences.

+ Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards when handling sensitive information.

+ Provide resources and referrals to callers seeking additional support or services.

+ Monitor call center operations and identify areas for improvement to enhance service quality.

+ Requirements

• Fluency in both Creole and English is required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Behavioral Health, or a related medical field.

• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in behavioral health, mental health settings, or crisis intervention.

• Proven ability to manage emotionally charged situations with calmness and empathy.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Willingness to complete training in suicide prevention and crisis intervention.

• Previous experience in a crisis center or similar organization is preferred.

• Familiarity with call center operations and data entry processes is advantageous.
