Job Title: Strategic Sourcing Specialist
Job Description
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will play a crucial role in the supply chain management process, responsible for optimizing savings and procedures by negotiating contracts and purchase agreements. This role involves supporting commodity management across all manufacturing locations, creating strategic sourcing plans to mitigate risks, and addressing issues caused by supply chain disruptions. The specialist will establish cost-saving initiatives and explore dual sourcing opportunities for current and upcoming projects. They will also be tasked with building and maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure optimal care for the business and resolving any issues at manufacturing sites.
Responsibilities
+ Execute and manage competitive business-wide contracts and supplier relationships by leveraging combined volume across all business units for better pricing and terms.
+ Research and identify more readily available and cost-effective alternatives for current purchased parts.
+ Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain Corporate Account terms.
+ Work with sister companies to combine product volumes and negotiate contracts with key suppliers.
+ Analyze and summarize organizational data to support decision-making processes for future procurement strategies.
+ Act as a liaison between the company and suppliers, maintaining relationships and identifying additional vendors to support future growth.
+ Collaborate with the finance and legal departments to ensure favorable contract terms.
+ Develop cost-effective strategies for purchasing materials used in the business.
+ Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with key suppliers to improve product quality and delivery timeliness.
+ Create and maintain Vendor Scorecards and review them with suppliers.
+ Define risk management procedures to mitigate losses during product shortages.
+ Liaise with key company employees to determine their product and service needs.
+ Develop safety stock strategies for products in D365.
+ Support the establishment of corporate processes to meet JSOX expectations.
+ Negotiate agreements, contracts, terms, and deadlines with vendors to support company goals.
+ Enhance and improve the new vendor qualification process.
+ Collaborate with IT to develop new reports and processes to enhance procurement functions.
+ Support cost-saving initiatives for current and upcoming projects.
+ Provide support to all manufacturing locations for designated commodities.
+ Onboard and vet new suppliers.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in procurement functions.
+ Strong understanding of procurement and negotiation techniques.
+ Strong analytical, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
+ Experience with any ERP systems.
+ Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with external suppliers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with purchase orders, data entry, and order entry.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Work Environment
The role requires working from 8 AM to 5 PM, with some flexibility available. It is a 6-month contract position with a business casual dress code. Closed-toe casual shoes are necessary, and steel-toe shoes may be required for visits to the manufacturing floor. There may be occasional visits to manufacturing sites in St. Louis and Georgetown every two to three months, with accommodations such as hotel and meals covered. The role is based in Greenfield.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenfield, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $27.00/hr.
