    Educational Sign Language Interpreter | $50/hr | Full-Time | 1-Year Contract

     

    Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking an Educational Sign Language Interpreter to support students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing in an educational setting. This full-time role begins December 1, 2025 and runs for one year.

    Position Overview

    + Location: Lisle, IL – Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program

    + Start Date: December 1, 2025

    + Duration: 1 year

    + Schedule: Monday–Friday | 35 hrs/week

    + Modality: In-person

    + Certification Required: EIPA

    Responsibilities

    + Facilitate communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and staff using American Sign Language (ASL)

    + Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa during classroom instruction, activities, and discussions

    + Ensure students have equal access to learning and participation

    + Maintain compliance with professional standards and district requirements

    Requirements

    + Proficiency in American Sign Language

    + Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in interpreting, deaf studies, or related field (preferred)

    + Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certification (required)

    + State Board of Education Interpreter Certificate or RID certification (as applicable)

    + Current CPR, TB questionnaire/PPD or chest x-ray, and health certificate (if required)

    + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

    + Minimum age: 18

    Pay Rate

    + $50/hr
