Job Title: Special Education Teacher – Middle School
Start Date: ASAP (Estimated Start: 12/15/2025)
Duration: Remainder of the 2025–2026 school year (possibility of extension into 2026–2027)
Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours/week (specific hours vary by school location)
Pay Rate: $48/hour
Job Description:
The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality services to students with special needs in grades K–12. This role requires a collaborative approach to planning and implementing individualized student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial support, and consultation with general education staff.
Responsibilities:
+ Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
+ Deliver differentiated instruction to students with disabilities
+ Adapt learning materials and teaching strategies
+ Collect and analyze student performance data to inform instruction
+ Collaborate with families, general education teachers, and support staff
+ Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
+ Valid Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) teaching certification with endorsement in Special Education
+ Note: Conditional or provisional licenses will not be accepted
+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
+ Minimum of 1 year of Special Education teaching experience
+ Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements
+ Current CPR certification (if applicable)
