This position works directly with patients, physician offices, technicians, nurses and therapists, accurately managing all appointment types in the Sound Health Outpatient Imaging Center.
Job duties for this position include but are not limited to:
+ Functions as a liaison for the modality to ensure open and effective communication between the technologists, scheduling, admitting, physicians, nursing, radiologists and patients.
+ Performs all file room duties.
+ Correlates all scheduled appointments with orders for accuracy and keeps appointments on schedule.
+ Uses all computer information sources at St. Peter’s Health for the benefit of patients, facilitating prompt, accurate service.
+ Serves as an information resource for all in-coming calls, employees and patients while performing various office duties.
+ Provides front-line customer service for all patients.
+ Uses electronic healthcare information system to accurately record information related to the patient’s scheduled appointment.
+ Provides patients with basic instructions such as preparation for visit, directions, arrival times, information to bring to visit, expectations for payment, and other key information to ensure patient’s success.
+ Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information
+ R ecords and collects patient charges;
+ Assures that co-pays and deductibles are collected at time of service.
+ Controls credit extended to patients.
+ Serves as the resource for staff with billing and collections questions.
+ Maintains inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level.
+ Anticipating needed supplies. This position places and expedites as necessary orders for supplies and then verifies receipt of supplies.
+ Schedules equipment service and repairs.
+ Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
+ Assists sonographers with patient flow and adhering to schedule by cleaning and/or resetting exam rooms between patients as needed.
+ Performs other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the center.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Two years’ experience in bookkeeping and computerized accounting systems preferred. Must have exceptional typing skills and possess advanced knowledge of the most complex functions of word processing, spelling, grammar, punctuation; additional computer experience is desirable. Must possess interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively and efficiently in a courteous and considerate manner to maintain contact with personnel and St. Peter’s Health customers. Impeccable personal honesty, integrity, and confidentiality are essential.
EDUCATION: High school diploma, HiSET or GED equivalent preferred.

Aptitudes : Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional and courteous manner with customer. Demonstrated ability to effectively complete assigned work while experiencing multiple interruptions. Demonstrated ability to manage complex and multiple tasks within an assigned time-period. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal discretion, perform detailed assignments, and compile information with accuracy.
