Compensation: $60,000–$65,000 per year

Position Overview
The Senior Permitting Associate plays a key role in supporting the operational facets of solar projects, ensuring that all paperwork, applications, and regulatory documents are completed accurately and efficiently. This individual will also mentor junior team members and serve as a liaison with permitting authorities across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal teams, including Management, Sales, Accounting,
Field, and Office staff.
• Lead and mentor permitting associates through training on regulatory processes, application quality, and
best practices.
• Anticipate and proactively mitigate permitting risks, delays, or denials; negotiate permit conditions with AHJs
when necessary.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal, county, and state permitting authorities, including
planning and zoning boards, and building departments.
• Review and supervise all permitting applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with local,
state, and federal regulations.
• Coordinate with the Operations team to ensure accurate project information is relayed throughout the solar
process.
• Maintain and update project management databases.
• Oversee Department of Buildings permitting processes.
Qualifications
• Must have permitting experience within Long Island and/or Westchester.
• Expeditor License is a plus-preferred
• Prior experience in project coordination is required.
• Notary experience is a strong plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and time management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Passion for renewable energy and environmental sustainability.
