Description:
Position Purpose
Under the supervision of the pathology/cytology supervisors, this position is responsible for administrative and clerical duties to proactively identify and respond to the needs of our patients, pathology staff, and physicians. Works in conjunction with other staff members to ensure efficient and effective operation of the office.
What You Will Do
+ Daily filing reports, requisitions, delivery logs
+ Transcription to include: gross descriptions, final reports and addenda as necessary
+ Daily slide filing, logistics, pulling and send outs
+ Daily imager loading and starting
+ Typing speed at least 60 wpm with 95% accuracy
+ Sorting reports daily to ensure same day delivery
+ Data entry laboratory requisitions
+ Review for appropriate signatures, patient data, tests requested, physician and billing information
+ Provide information to physician offices regarding specimen requirements
+ Maintenance of all patient information as required for diagnosis/insurance or billing
+ Maintain regular and reliable job attendance
Minimum Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ 2 years laboratory experience preferred
+ Minimum of 60 wpm typing speed
+ Requires transcription skills
+ Requires medical terminology
