    Description

    A Plant Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the overall quality of production within the Rushville manufacturing plants by: implementing and enforcing quality systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product quality and efficiency; all while collaborating with production teams to address quality issues and uphold customer expectations; key duties include inspecting products at various stages, conducting quality audits, analyzing data, identifying root causes of defects, and leading/training staff on quality procedures and multiple functions.

    As the Plant Quality Manager, you will:

    + Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems (QMS) including inspection protocols, testing procedures, and documentation/document control (Team Center) to ensure product consistency and compliance with regulatory requirements

    + Conduct regular quality checks throughout the production process, including sampling, testing, and data analysis to identify potential quality issues and take corrective actions

    + Investigate non-conforming products, identify root causes of defects, and implement preventive measures to prevent recurrence

    + Ensure adherence to all relevant quality standards, industry regulations (e.g., ISO, UL), and customer specifications

    + Train quality and production staff on quality procedures, standards, and proper documentation practices to promote a culture of quality awareness

    + Conduct internal quality audits and manage external audits to identify areas for improvement and maintain compliance

    + Analyze quality data to identify trends, generate reports, and present findings to plant management to support decision-making

    + Lead initiatives to optimize production processes and identify opportunities for quality improvement through Lean Manufacturing principles (structured problem solving) or other methodologies

    + Collaborate with Supplier Quality (SCM) and suppliers to ensure incoming materials meet quality standards and address supplier quality issues

    + Engage and lead Quality Department hourly and salary team members, developing each to be his/her best and cross-train within the areas of focus

    Required education, experiences & skills:

    + Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related field

    + Strong understanding of quality management principles and methodologies (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing)

    + Proven leadership experience, 5+ year, in a manufacturing environment with a focus on quality control

    + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, internally and externally

    + Proficiency in data analysis tools and statistical methods

    + Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

    Preferred education, experiences & skills

    + working knowledge of eTQ, Team Center Document Suppository, Oracle or similar ERP, Outlook 365, and Microsoft Teams

    About Our Location

     

    Our 2-building campus offers a safe and clean work environment with a “family” atmosphere. We manufacture new semi-hermetic compressors and take the worn-out, failed compressors out of the field and remanufacture them to “like new” status, as well as manufacture crank shafts. Approximately 200 employees work in Rushville and are an integral part of our organization. A 2-building campus allows for learning and growth opportunities for all our team.
