Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This role involves picking, labeling, scanning, and preparing finished prescriptions for final verification by a pharmacist.
Responsibilities
+ Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a pharmacist.
+ Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle or dispose of them according to procedures.
+ Prepack frequently ordered medications, label, and store them as needed during low volume times.
+ Package materials and products manually.
+ Pull and pick medications from shelving and other storage areas, and prepack racks.
+ Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy checks.
+ Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication or product that is not scanning properly.
+ Maintain designated workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed.
+ Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
+ Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required and/or expected.
+ Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in retail pharmacy operations.
+ Data entry skills.
+ Possession and maintenance of a clear and active MD Pharmacy Technician License issued by the MD Board of Pharmacy.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School diploma or equivalent.
+ Ability to work at a moderate speed.
+ Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
+ Previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
+ Pharmacy technician certification.
+ Experience in order filling, pharmacy, healthcare, compounding, fulfillment, insurance, inventory, and drug products.
Work Environment
The work environment is within a pharmacy setting. You may be required to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently throughout the day. The role may involve extended hours, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. The position requires finger dexterity to operate office equipment, visual acuity to read fine print, and the ability to hear normal voice sounds. Compliance with safety, attendance, and dress code policies is mandatory.
Schedule
8-hour 3rd shift starting between 9 PM–10 PM
8-hour 2nd shift starting between 12 PM–2 PM
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Columbia, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
