    Job Title: Electrical and Instrumentation Technician

    Job Description

    The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and instrumentation equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards.

    Responsibilities

    + Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, control panels, and instrumentation equipment.

    + Perform preventive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems to minimize downtime.

    + Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and instrumentation issues using appropriate tools and techniques.

    + Calibrate and configure sensors, transmitters, and other instrumentation devices.

    + Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

    + Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, codes, and company standards.

    + Document maintenance activities, repairs, and calibration records accurately.

    + Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.

    + Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and assist in root cause analysis.

    + Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, and instrumentation devices.

    + Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.

    + Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving.

    + Familiarity with safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures.

    + Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

    + Experience with automated control systems and SCADA.

    + Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and ISA standards.

    + Familiarity with CMMS systems for maintenance tracking.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is fairly clean, given that it involves food products. There is a presence of SO2 in the air, which is not super strong but noticeable. The facility is warm in the winter and can get hot in the summer. Employees should be prepared to work in industrial environments, including exposure to noise, heat, and confined spaces, and be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and on-call as needed is essential.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wahpeton, ND.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
