    Job Title: Tool and Die Maker

    Job Description

    The primary responsibility of the Tool and Die Maintenance Technician is preventative and corrective maintenance on stamping dies in accordance with established standards.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform welding, grinding, crane operation, machining, and fabrication.

    + Smooth flat and contoured surfaces using power grinders and assemble parts into assemblies and mechanisms.

    + Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances.

    + Perform machining, finishing, assembly, and tuning of dies.

    + Carry out emergency repairs as needed.

    + Perform die modifications to enhance surface quality and accuracy.

    + Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders.

    + Work effectively in a team setting.

    + Adhere to ISO and IATF procedures and work instructions.

    + Log daily activities, issues, and progress of die work.

    + Perform other duties as assigned by the Die Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong technical capacity to perform required repairs and maintenance while following safety protocols.

    + Ability to be licensed to operate powered industrial equipment.

    + Troubleshooting and analytical skills.

    + Experience in building and maintaining high-volume casting or stamping dies and welding ability.

    + High school diploma or equivalent is required, Technical Degree preferred.

    + Some electrical and mechanical knowledge.

    + Demonstrated success in troubleshooting and problem-solving.

    + Proficiency in tool and die, welding, machining, and repair.

    + Strong mechanical and shop math aptitude.

    + Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation.

    + Knowledge of Lockout/Tag-out (LOTO) procedures.

    + Ability to manage time effectively.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Technical Degree preferred.

    + Experience in industrial maintenance or military experience is advantageous.

    + Team player with strong communication skills.

    Work Environment

     

    This job primarily operates in a plant floor environment and requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). It may also involve working outdoors or in an office setting. The role routinely uses hand tools and various meters, alongside standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with weekend work and extended hours as required.

    This is a Contract position based out of Kansas City, MO.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
