Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Description

Join a leading sitework contractor specializing in asphalt, mass grading, concrete, and site utilities in the Charlotte area. We are seeking several skilled Heavy Equipment Operators for multiple job sites. Operators will be responsible for fine grading building pads using bulldozers and excavators, and performing various tasks on the construction site.

Responsibilities

+ Operate bulldozers and excavators to fine grade building pads.

+ Assist with road and curb crew tasks, including basic shovel work.

+ Perform labor work when necessary, including tasks outside of operating machinery.

+ Help out with other tasks as required to ensure project completion.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction operating heavy equipment.

+ Proficient operation of bulldozers or excavators.

+ Ability to fine grade with or without GPS.

+ Experience in sitework and grading.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 5+ years of experience with a civil grading contractor is preferred.

+ Desire to work in the construction industry and around earth-moving equipment.

+ Willingness to learn and operate various heavy machinery such as rollers, articulated dump trucks, loaders, skid steers, and backhoes.

Work Environment

Work in an open-air construction environment where you will be exposed to the elements. Be prepared to work in both hot and cold conditions. Sites may vary from wide open spaces to road crews on vertical structures. Safety is a top priority in all working environments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
