    Description

    About the Role:

    We’re looking for a proactive and customer-focused Collections Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing past-due accounts, maintaining positive client relationships, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to problem-solve while maintaining professionalism and empathy.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Contact customers regarding past-due accounts via phone, email, and written correspondence

    + Negotiate and set up payment arrangements while maintaining positive customer relationships

    + Research and resolve billing discrepancies or disputed charges

    + Maintain accurate records of all collection activity in the system

    + Collaborate with the accounting and sales teams to address payment issues

    + Monitor aging reports and identify high-risk accounts

    + Escalate unresolved accounts to management or third-party collection agencies as needed

    + Ensure compliance with all company policies and collection regulations (FDCPA and state laws)

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    + High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred

    + 2+ years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related field

    + Strong communication and negotiation skills

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting or ERP software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP)

    + Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills

    + Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
