Description

Our trusted client is seeking a Controller Consultant for a long-term engagement in Port Huron, Michigan. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in manufacturing environments, advanced analytical abilities, and expertise in cost accounting. The Controller will play a critical role in managing financial processes, including month-end close and reporting, while ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This hybrid role will report directly to the CFO.

The day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Oversee financial operations within a manufacturing environment, including cost accounting and cash flow management.

• Manage ERP systems effectively to ensure seamless financial reporting and data accuracy.

• Conduct detailed data analysis using advanced Excel skills to support decision-making processes.

• Prepare journal entries and ensure timely completion of month-end close processes.

• Utilize the 445 calendar to complete month-end close in four days and submit reporting packages by day five.

• Develop and maintain accurate cash forecasts to support company operations.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze financial trends and provide actionable insights.

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.

• Generate comprehensive reports for investors and management teams.

• Continuously refine processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in manufacturing.

• Proficiency in standard cost accounting and ERP system management.

• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate complex data.

• Advanced Excel capabilities, including formulas and data modeling.

• Proven track record of completing month-end close processes within tight deadlines.

• Experience in cash flow management and forecasting.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

• Effective communication skills to collaborate with teams and present financial insights.
