Job Description
Join our team as a CNC Set Up Machinist, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and setup of CNC machinery. Your expertise will be vital in executing precise machining processes and maintaining the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
+ Ensure the proper computer program and necessary tools are installed in the machine.
+ Position materials on the machine and initiate the power.
+ Monitor machinery for any issues during the production run and make necessary adjustments to correct problems.
+ Adjust and reprogram controls; sharpen or replace worn tools or change various types of media and chemicals.
+ Apply knowledge of precision measuring instruments to maintain part quality and print tolerance.
+ Adapt to a changing work environment with competing demands and frequent changes.
+ Assist in maintaining machines' program outputs at optimum levels and perform minor preventive maintenance.
+ Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, cutting operations and taking accurate measurements.
+ Identify CNC malfunctions, troubleshoot problems, collect data, and establish facts to correct issues.
+ Document and communicate actions and irregularities to maintain continuity among work shifts.
+ Report discrepancies and problems to the designated supervisor.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in CNC setup and operation, with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
+ Proficiency in reading blueprints and specifications with an understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions.
+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
+ Experience in using hand tools, micrometers, calipers, and gauges for inspection and quality checks.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve CNC malfunctions.
+ Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
+ Flexibility to work varying schedules including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ At least 3 years of experience in setting up mills and lathes.
+ Reliable and possesses a good attendance record.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $66560.00/yr.
