Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient movement and storage of materials within our facility. You will read work orders and receive instructions to determine the necessary materials and equipment for your assignments. Utilizing motorized forklifts and other industrial trucks, you will position lifting devices to move, load, or unload packages or products to designated areas. Your role will also involve manually transporting building products to ensure timely and complete delivery, counting finished products to verify order completion, and tying products into bundles for further processing or shipment.
Responsibilities
+ Read work orders and receive instructions to determine work assignments.
+ Utilize motorized forklifts and other industrial trucks for moving materials.
+ Manually transport building products for timely delivery.
+ Count finished products to ensure order completion.
+ Tie products into bundles and install protective devices for transport.
+ Maintain storage areas and perform routine maintenance on power industrial trucks.
Essential Skills
+ Forklift operation
+ Loading and unloading experience
+ Shipping and receiving
+ Customer service skills
+ Order picking and packing
+ Warehouse production experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 6+ months of experience in a warehouse, production, or construction environment
+ 6+ months of forklift experience
+ 6+ months of experience in a non-climate controlled environment
+ Ability to lift up to 75lbs consistently and 150lbs occasionally
+ 6+ months of experience with lumber or construction materials
+ Ability to read delivery tickets
+ 6+ months of customer-facing experience
Work Environment
This position is based in a lumber yard with a non-climate controlled warehouse, which can be dusty. The team consists of four people plus assisting drivers. The role requires wearing jeans, steel-toed boots, and appropriate layers as needed. The work hours are from 7 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waverly, NE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
