Job Title: Medical Assembler
Job Description
This role, referred to as the Pilot Operator, involves working at the R&D facility to perform prototype assemblies and assist in the development of new product lines. You will collaborate directly with engineers and technicians to build and enhance these lines, working both inside and outside the cleanroom.
Responsibilities
+ Begin in the packaging and testing area to gain exposure and familiarity with different parts.
+ Train to use the vertical reflow machine for testing purposes.
+ Cross-train in multiple areas including Assembly/Operating, Grinding, and Lab.
+ Work with hand tools and perform tasks like soldering, light welding, and microscope usage.
+ Operate and run flattener machines, semi-automated reflow machines, and injection mold presses.
+ Collaborate with engineers and technicians to improve processes and troubleshoot issues.
+ Utilize grinding machines and deburr/file down parts.
+ Perform welding with machines and use microscopes for inspections and assemblies.
+ Work with computer systems and vision systems for inspections.
Essential Skills
+ 4+ years of medical assembly experience.
+ Experience working with R&D departments and engineers.
+ Proficiency in microscope inspection and assembly.
+ Blueprint reading.
+ Troubleshooting and multi-tasking abilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Comfortable with cross-training and learning multiple processes.
+ Initiative-driven and proactive in improving processes.
+ Technically savvy and comfortable with technology and computers.

Work Environment
The facility, built within the last five years, offers a bright, open, and temperature-controlled environment. Work in and out of the cleanroom and occasionally in the lab area. Interact with a team of about 10-15 people, including management, leads, assemblers, engineers, and technicians. The site is not overly loud, negating the need for hearing protection. The R&D site is dedicated to developing efficient processes for the manufacturing site, with ongoing expansion to accommodate new machines and materials.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fridley, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.25 - $22.25/hr.
