The Director is charged with providing the District with professional, reliable emergency medical services, and will ensure that such services will be provided in accordance with local protocols, District policies, procedures, and Texas Department of State Health Services Standards. The Director is responsible for staffing, training, vehicle maintenance, and providing supplies for the services provided.  The EMS director also serves as MCHD’s emergency management liaison, collaborating with community emergency management teams as necessary.  The director will fulfill all duties of emergency management, including facility emergency management drills and after-action reports. This person performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as requested.   EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: At least two years experience as a Manager in an EMS facility is required.  EMT Paramedic certification is required, with experience as follows:  Four (4) years as EMT-Paramedic, two (2) which can be as EMT-Intermediate             LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: * Texas Department of State Health Services EMT-Paramedic * National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians EMT-Paramedic is preferred. * BLS, ACLS, PEPP or PALS    OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of accreditation standards. Knowledge of rescue and safety procedures and protocols is required. Personal computer skills to produce reports, schedules, and budgets are required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Multi-task orientated with ability to work within deadlines and under stressful conditions.
