    US Tax Expertise Manager (12-Month Contract, Hybrid – San Diego, CA)

     

    12-month Contract Duration: Through end of 2026, with potential extension through 2027 (based on performance and budget)

     

    Pay Range: $51 – $69/hour + Benefits

     

    Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote after training)

    About the Role

    A global leader in the semiconductor industry is seeking a US Tax Expertise Manager to join their team on a 12-month contract. This role is ideal for a tax professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys researching complex tax topics, presenting findings to non-tax stakeholders, and contributing to strategic projects. You will serve as a subject matter expert (SME), advising the business on tax implications and ensuring compliance with federal and state corporate tax regulations.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Act as the primary tax liaison for stakeholders in San Diego, providing clear guidance on tax-related matters.

    + Research and interpret US corporate income tax regulations; deliver actionable insights to non-tax professionals.

    + Support cross-functional projects with tax expertise and strategic input.

    + Assist central compliance teams with gathering and analyzing required forms and disclosures.

    + Manage US income tax audits, inquiries, and notices.

    + Collaborate with Tax & Customs expertise teams to address priorities and ensure compliance.

    + Occasional travel (5–15%).

    Required Skills & Experience

    + Top 3 Technical Skills:

    + Tax research and interpretation

    + Ability to present complex tax topics to non-tax audiences

    + Project involvement and stakeholder engagement

    + Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in law, accounting, finance, or related field (Master’s, CPA, or JD preferred)

    + 5+ years of experience in US corporate income tax (federal and state) required

    + Familiarity with 1120 forms and related compliance required

    + Strong internal/external stakeholder engagement

    + Technical Tax Knowledge - tax, customs, sales & uses, tax audits, tax notices, tax provisions

    + Proficient in tax research, presenting on tax topics to non-tax professionals, handling various projects

    + Experience with RIA Checkpoint preferred

    + Semiconductor industry experience is a plus

    + Nice-to-Have Skills:

    + Sales & use tax, transfer pricing, wage tax

    + Audit experience

    + CPA certification

    This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $63.00/hr.
