The Institute for Education Policy is seeking a **_Program Coordinator_** . This individual will provide background information and research for the Executive Director’s and Director’s public outreach associated with President Daniels’ grant. This will include coordinating events, researching education policies, and coordinating between the Directors and the SOE and JHU communications and development teams.
The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of a specific program under general supervision and direction. The Program Coordinator participates in program development, planning, and implementation. The position is responsible for day-to-day operations of the program and achieving short and long-term program goals. May supervise or oversee operational staff with program responsibilities.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
+ Contribute to goal setting and identify program operational requirements to meet programmatic goals.
+ Obtain and utilize internal and external resources to meet program goals.
+ Serve as primary contact for the program with internal departments and external organizations.
+ Responsible for monitoring budget expenses, processing invoices, performing budget reconciliation, and assisting with budget development.
+ Compile documentation related to funding and finance.
+ Identify and resolve programmatic problems.
+ Assist with planning events and coordinate preparation, set up and logistics for events/ functions.
+ Coordinate communication activities via websites, social media channels, and publication materials as needed.
+ Ensure timely, accurate and appropriate reporting of program activities.
_In addition to the duties described above_
+ Preparing memos on key education policies or practices (e.g., how many states require both Algebra and Geometry for high school graduation).
+ Identifying research studies on specific educational subjects (e.g., is there any evidence that project-based learning helps middle school academic achievement).
+ Researching participants for upcoming events or gatherings, both external and Institute-run (e.g., which journalists cover homeschooling frequently, or which Democratic governors have opted in to the new federal education tax credit).
Minimum Qualifications
+ High School diploma or graduation equivalent.
+ Four years progressively responsible administrative experience.
+ Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree preferred.
+ Demonstrably strong writing skills (grammar, punctuation, clarity of thought).
+ Demonstrable experience with researching education studies and education policies.
Technical Qualifications and Specialized Certifications
+ Highly proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Starting Salary Range: $21.25 - $36.90 HRLY (Commensurate w/exp.)
