This role is designed for a highly skilled nursing professional who can independently function as an assistant to the surgeon 24/7, deliver advanced-level nursing care, and lead educational initiatives within the unit. The position requires adaptability, clinical expertise, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency in a dynamic surgical environment.
Responsibilities:
+ Patient assessment.
+ Documentation.
+ Utilization of preference cards, knowledge, and experience to learn/know procedures and surgeon preferences to anticipate the needs of the patient and surgical team (in the scrub role and circulator role)
+ Translate learned skills to other facets of practice (e.g., using knowledge of how to scrub a procedure to better anticipate the needs of the team)
+ Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: 7am - 3:30 pm, weekday, weekend, holiday call requirement
+ Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Four years appropriate clinical experience.
+ Demonstrated leadership ability Excellent communication, interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
+ Working knowledge of PC operations.
+ This position typically reports to the Nursing Director. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Must be currently licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Complete RNFA program Basic CPR CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ Registered Nurse (RN)
+ Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting
+ Act 33
+ Act 34
+ Act 73 FBI Clearance
*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
