    About Us:

    Firematic is a leader in providing fire and emergency services solutions. We maintain and service specialized Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) vehicles and equipment for airports, municipalities, and private facilities. We are looking for a skilled ARFF Mechanic to join our team and keep our customer's fleet in top operational condition.

    Position Overview:

    The ARFF Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of ARFF trucks and related firefighting equipment. This role is essential to ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and mission-ready at all times. Ideal candidate will be willing to travel locally and out of state to include overnight stays occasionally.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair ARFF vehicles, pumps, foam systems, electrical systems, and chassis components

    + Perform preventive maintenance and safety checks per NFPA and OEM standards

    + Document all work performed, parts used, and inspections completed

    + Work closely with airport operations and fire departments to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime

    + Maintain compliance with FAA, NFPA, and OSHA regulations

    + Respond to emergency repair needs when necessary

    Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or ASE certifications preferred

    + 3+ years of experience as a heavy truck, fire apparatus, or diesel mechanic (ARFF experience highly desirable)

    + Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, diesel engines, and foam suppression systems

    + EVT Certifications a plus!

    + Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics

    + Basic computer skills for maintenance logging

    + Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain)

    + Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying outdoor conditions
