Overview
The Director, Commerce is responsible for driving thought leadership and shaping holistic commerce strategy to drive client’s business, as well as overseeing the activation team responsible for bringing those strategies & plans to life in practice. The Director will partner with clients & agency Omni/Brand teams to address ecommerce media landscape opportunities and threats to continue to bring forth new opportunities for growth.
The Director works with client stakeholders & holistic agency strategy teams to develop strategy most effectively drive business results across all eCommerce and omni-channel Retail Media platforms (highlighted below). The Commerce Director is accountable for working with the team to ensure performance is hitting stated revenue, sales, and online goals, and will be key stakeholder for client + Publicis Commerce Team relationship. Proven excellence and experience in online retail digital media required. A background in shopper marketing is a plus.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for developing and implementing best practices across the Publicis Commerce team & serve as the connector across the agency and client teams re: commerce integration & initiatives. You will serve as the main point of contact for Publics Commerce across senior clients and act as a leader across the full agency team.
Role Objectives:
+ Manage growing eCommerce team in the planning and activation of campaigns across retail commerce space (Search and Display), included but not limited to Amazon, Walmart, Kroger, Target Roundel, Instacart, and retail networks such as Criteo and,/or Citrus Ads and retail platforms such as Pacvue and/or Skai.
+ Responsible for ongoing thought leadership and opportunities that will drive client business results
+ Key lead for client relationship, responsible for team oversight, budget oversight and ensuring performance is meeting client’s goals.
+ Works closely with key retail partners to maintain optimal working relationship, and collaborates on new ways to drive client’s business at that particular retailer
+ Responsible for contributing and attending larger Business reviews (QBRs, Annual Planning, etc.)
+ Actively contribute to account strategy, including annual budget development, KPIs, partner selection, new tactics, and tracking industry developments and recommending new
+ Connected to inter-Publicis Groupe Commerce Practice, and responsible for distributing Groupe-level POVs, Industry materials, etc.
+ Work to sell through proprietary Commerce tools and tech
+ Support in any new business pitches and related work as required
+ Understanding of all relevant tools for reporting, analytics and competitive analysis
+ Responsible for managing and coaching a team of 3+ varying levels below them
Qualifications
+ Strong understanding of eCommerce landscape
+ 6-8 years of media planning and buying experience, with at least 3-4 years in digital commerce role.
+ In-depth knowledge of the retail commerce landscape is critical
+ Knowledge of activation & optimization techniques across Retailer Media & eCommerce platforms is a must
+ Strong command of commerce platforms, syndicated research tools, and reporting resources such as Amazon, Walmart Media Group, and Instacart
+ 3-5 years of people managing experience
+ Demonstrated critical thinking & problem-solving abilities.
+ Solid verbal & written communication skills – you’re poised, precise, and above all, kind when engaging with others. Proven track record of selling ideas clearly & delivering value.
+ Ability to work successfully with teams on multiple projects under tight deadlines
+ Desire to work in an industry which is constantly evolving & presenting new & unique challenges
+ Able to package, merchandise, and sell in concepts and new opportunities
+ Strategic thinking and able to see the bigger picture

Compensation Range: $130,000 - $154,000. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
