Job Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist Clinics performs high quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist healthcare providers in evaluating and treating patients. This role requires proficiency in sonographic imaging, independent judgment, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort. The Ultrasound Technologist Clinics ensures all procedures are appropriately ordered, patient identification is verified, and imaging protocols are followed to produce accurate and reproducible results.
Essential Functions
+ Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures independently in accordance with established clinic protocols to ensure accurate imaging results.
+ Verifies patient identity, confirms procedure orders, and explains the imaging process to patients to ensure understanding and comfort.
+ Documents and reports imaging findings and collaborates with healthcare providers to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
+ Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment, adhering to safety guidelines and manufacturer recommendations.
+ Maintains patient care standards by ensuring a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment in compliance with infection control protocols.
+ Coordinates with clinic staff to optimize patient scheduling and workflow, ensuring timely completion of imaging procedures.
+ Assumes responsibility for patient safety and comfort during all imaging activities, providing assistance as needed.
+ Accurately documents imaging procedures and patient information in the clinic's electronic health records system.
+ Monitors and maintains an adequate supply of imaging materials and communicates inventory needs to the clinic manager.
+ Provides support during clinic emergencies and actively participates in quality assurance activities to uphold clinical standards.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
+ Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
+ 1-3 years of clinical experience as an Ultrasound Technologist required
+ 2-4 years of clinical experience in outpatient or clinical imaging settings preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Proficiency in performing sonographic imaging in an outpatient clinical setting.
+ Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to diagnostic sonography.
+ Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
+ Attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in imaging and documentation.
+ Commitment to patient confidentiality and adherence to ethical standards.
+ Ability to work independently and make informed decisions within the scope of practice.
Licenses and Certifications
+ (S) - ARDMS or ARRT - Sonography required
+ BCLS - Basic Life Support obtained within 7 days of employment required
