JOB SUMMARY
Inside Sales Representatives process industrial sales transactions, provide quotes, share product information, build rapport with customers, and promote merchandise while working in an office setting with other team members. Individuals in this role listen well, problem-solve, communicate effectively, and ensure customers are satisfied with their purchases. They approach others tactfully, react well under pressure, treat others with respect and consideration regardless of status or position, and follow through on commitments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Facilitate the sales process through project management, tracking open sales orders, issue resolution, and overall customer service and support
+ Provide product pricing and shipping by consulting the pricing matrix and other complex tables to determine the appropriate price
+ Develop cost-effective and time sensitive quotes for customers via phone and email
+ Enter customer orders and provide order-related documentation
+ Ensure timely shipment of materials and customer satisfaction by estimating lead times
+ Contribute to add-on sales by maintaining a high level of product knowledge
+ Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues
+ Perform estimates, discounts, and RFQ’s as necessary
+ Respond to customer complaints and inquiries promptly and professionally
+ Answer phone calls and emails in a professional manner
+ Build and maintain customer relationships
+ Upsell products and make recommendations
+ Perform other duties as required
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIREMENTS
+ Personal integrity and customer service, sales, and communications skills to provide excellent service while achieving sales metrics
+ 3+ years of inside sales experience in the same or similar industry preferred
+ Strong ability to process information and manage multiple tasks
+ Experience with industrial sales strongly preferred but not required
+ Intermediate proficiency with MS Office Suite and distribution-specific ERP systems

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. Office and travel environments have moderate noise levels. Machine/product demonstrations and customer visits may involve loud noise levels. Noise levels may be extreme, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided; usage is driven by customer requirements. Required PPE may include steel-toe boots, hard hats, and safety glasses. Customer working environments may also include extreme heights, confined spaces, rigorous physical requirements, and other hazards.
