POSITION SUMMARY
Partnership (ECCP) model to provide consultation and support for early care and education providers and parents to help young children who are struggling with challenging behaviors be more successful in their settings. The position is a flexible position that requires good time management and organization skills. Much training provided and opportunities for growth within both the field of early childhood mental health, and within the Wheeler agency. Supervision and support for licensure provided. Work with a team of colleagues who are highly skilled early childhood clinicians and professionals and work in a collaborative way across programs. Manage your own schedule and work needs to maintain your personal and family care needs.
SALARY
$60,000
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Psychology Social Work, Education, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or a related Human Services field is required. Extensive knowledge and demonstrated level of expertise in early childhood development, emotional and behavioral health, family systems, assessment, attachment/separation issues, substance abuse, domestic violence, and abuse and neglect is also required.
Must hold one of the following credentials: LMSW, LCSW, LMFTA, LMFT, LPCA, LPC or licensed or license-eligible Psychologist in the State of Connecticut.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teams with early childcare staff and families to identify and provide interventions for young children, birth to five, who may be at risk of suspension and or expulsion from a childcare or early education program.
Provides home visits for the purpose of observation, screening, and action plan implementation support as needed.
Acts as a resource regarding early childhood development with emphasis on emotional and behavioral health and the importance of relationship between the child and parent/guardian.
Provides environmental assessments in the home, as well as in the child care setting to suppose those identified children at risk.
Provides coaching to early childcare providers in a manner that is culturally responsive to the child, family, and provider.
Completes assessments and individualized plans which involve the early childcare provider, child, and family in the provision of interventions.
Participates in training modules, regularly scheduled stateside meetings, and supervisory observations.
Works collaboratively with community agencies.
Provides trainings on early childhood topics to community members.
Provides required data and reports in accordance with established timelines.
Reports suspected child abuse and/or neglect as mandated by state law.
Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
