    Job Summary:

    HCA Florida JFK Hospital is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiologist to join our growing cardiovascular team in Palm Beach County, Florida. This unique position combines a clinical focus in advanced heart failure and mechanical circulatory support (LVAD program) with a leadership role as Program Director for our established ACGME-accredited General Cardiology Fellowship Program.

     

    You will join a collaborative team of two advanced heart failure cardiologists, dedicated APPs, and a full multidisciplinary support staff. With the backing of HCA Healthcare—the nation’s largest sponsor of GME programs—this role offers the resources, mentorship culture, and academic prestige to attract top talent and take an already strong program to the next level of excellence.

    Clinical Responsibilities:

    + Inpatient and outpatient advanced heart failure management (2 weeks inpatient, 2 weeks outpatient).

    + Consultative responsibilities, including ICU coverage.

    + Call schedule: 1:3, supported by advanced practice providers.

    + LVAD program involvement with opportunity to expand advanced therapies.

    + No ER call.

    Program Director Responsibilities:

    + Full oversight of the General Cardiology Fellowship Program, including:

    + Development, implementation, and continuous improvement of curriculum, clinical rotations, didactics, and scholarly activity.

    + Recruitment, selection, and mentorship of fellows.

    + Ensuring ACGME compliance and accreditation standards.

    + Faculty development, performance evaluation, and mentorship

    + Fostering a culture of inclusivity, professionalism, and fellow well-being.

    + Strategic planning to advance program reputation through innovation in training and academic partnerships.

    + Serve as the visible leader for academic cardiology within JFK Hospital and the East Florida Division of HCA Healthcare.

    Qualified Candidates:

    + Board Certified/Board Eligible in Cardiology with fellowship training in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology.

    + Eligible for Florida medical licensure.

    + Demonstrated commitment to education, mentorship, and scholarly activity.

    + Prior experience as a fellowship program director or associate program director strongly preferred; candidates with strong academic credentials and leadership potential encouraged to apply.

    + Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
