The Medical Records Clerk maintains accurate and confidential resident health records in compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations. This role supports the care team by ensuring timely access to complete and organized documentation. Licensed Nurse preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Maintain and update resident medical records (paper and electronic).
+ Audit charts for accuracy and completeness.
+ Process record requests while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
+ Prepare charts for admissions, discharges, and transfers.
+ Support staff and surveyors with record access.
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ Alabama nursing license preferred but not required.
+ Experience in healthcare or long-term care preferred.
+ Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA standards.
+ Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
+ Proficient with computers and electronic health record systems.
