Job Title: Lab Assistant – Disease Trait Discovery (RTP)

**Location:** Research Triangle Park, NC

**Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm

**Employment Type:** Full-Time, On-site

**Pay Rate:** $22/hour

About the Opportunity

Adecco is currently recruiting for a **Lab Assistant** to support the Disease Trait Discovery team at a leading agricultural research organization in RTP. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in greenhouse work, plant biology, and hands-on laboratory experience. The client welcomes candidates who are early in their scientific careers and willing to learn.

Position Overview

The Lab Assistant will split time between greenhouse and laboratory work. Responsibilities include collecting plant tissue, recording phenotypic data, maintaining plant pathogen cultures, and assisting with routine lab experiments. The client provides training for motivated candidates who demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established protocols.

Key Responsibilities

+ Collect plant tissue and document plant phenotypic data in greenhouse settings

+ Maintain fungal and bacterial pathogen cultures under sterile conditions

+ Assist with wet lab experiments and provide general laboratory support

+ Accurately follow procedures and maintain clear documentation

+ Work collaboratively with team members to support daily operations

Required Qualifications

+ Strong teamwork-oriented work ethic

+ Willingness and ability to work in both greenhouse and laboratory environments

+ Availability Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

+ Ability to perform all assigned tasks with training provided

Preferred Skills & Experience

+ Experience in microbiology, particularly sterile culture of fungi and bacteria

+ Familiarity with wet lab techniques such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, bacterial transformation, or leaf infiltration

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

+ Completed or near-completion bachelor’s degree in biology, horticulture, plant science, microbiology, or a related field

Education

+ Bachelor’s degree may be required depending on experience

**Pay Details:** $22.00 per hour
