Job Title: VDC Specialist/Coordinator
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated VDC Specialist/Coordinator to join a dynamic team supporting a mechanical contractor with a focus on plumbing and HVAC projects. The specialist will be responsible for creating, managing, and coordinating detailed 3D models for plumbing and HVAC systems, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration across project teams using advanced BIM tools such as AutoCAD and Revit.
Responsibilities
+ Create, manage, and coordinate detailed 3D models for plumbing and HVAC systems to support design, fabrication, and installation processes.
+ Generate shop drawings, spool sheets, and fabrication details from models for prefabrication and field installation.
+ Participate in coordination meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
+ Assist in implementing new technologies and processes related to VDC and BIM.
+ Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure models align with design intent and installation requirements.
+ Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts between mechanical, electrical, and structural components.
Essential Skills
+ Piping knowledge
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD
+ Minimum of 1 year experience in a relevant field
+ Experience with Revit and Revit MEP
+ Familiarity with scanner imaging software
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Scanner experience is a nice to have for occasional project scanning tasks.
Work Environment
The role is primarily office-based with 80% of the time spent in the office and 20% involving travel to sites in Buffalo for project information gathering and scanning tasks.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cheektowaga, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/hr.
