The fellow will play a key role in advancing the FAITH! (Fostering African American Improvement in Total Health!) Emergency Preparedness Initiative, a project that provides culturally relevant resources to African American faith communities to help them build capacity for emergency response — including cardiac events, public health crises, severe weather, and other emergencies.

+ Analyze existing quantitative and qualitative datasets and develop manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

+ Assist in the preparation of grant proposals, progress reports, and conference presentations.

+ Collaborate with community partners, including faith leaders and organizations, to promote trust-based, culturally informed engagement.

+ Contribute to other community-based participatory research (CBPR) projects led by Dr. Brewer’s team, focused on developing digital health interventions and culturally tailored cardiovascular prevention strategies for African American communities.

+ Participate in regular mentoring meetings, seminars, and professional development opportunities to advance academic and leadership skills.
