Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to manage projects from inception to completion. The role involves designing electrical power distribution systems in Revit, selecting project equipment, and managing client interactions. The successful candidate will also be responsible for mentoring two junior staff members, as well as engaging in lighting and power distribution design.
Responsibilities
+ Oversee and manage projects from start to finish.
+ Design electrical power distribution systems using Revit.
+ Select appropriate equipment for various projects.
+ Interpret and breakdown redlines.
+ Manage client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
+ Mentor and guide two staff members.
+ Design lighting systems for commercial buildings.
+ Develop power distribution designs for various project types, including retail, medical, warehouse, manufacturing, and office fit-outs.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in electrical design, Revit, and engineering principles.
+ Experience with schematic design of power distribution and lighting systems for commercial buildings.
+ Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code and International Building Codes.
+ Ability to manage projects and clients efficiently.
+ Experience with field surveys and the development of design and as-built drawings.
+ Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit for design and drafting.
+ Ability to mentor junior electrical designers and perform QA/QC project reviews.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with power distribution tasks such as single line diagrams, panel schedules, wire sizing, voltage drop calculations, and short circuit calculations.
+ Knowledge of lighting design specifications, controls, emergency/egress requirements, and circuiting.
+ Familiarity with fire alarm design, codes, and system requirements.
+ Ability to review shop drawings and understand construction means, methods, and available products.
Work Environment
Our office environment is collaborative and dynamic, with a small team where everyone works together across different segments of the business. The work schedule includes four days in the office and the flexibility to work from home on Fridays. Our clean office space includes individual cubicles or offices, sitting areas, and a kitchen. The work hours are typically 8:30 am to 5 pm, with some flexibility if work is being completed. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the company's owner and a team of eager and smart staff. The firm is dedicated to growth and offers opportunities to work under a Professional Engineer to gain hours for licensure. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brielle, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.28 - $72.11/hr.
