    We are looking for a registered Mechanical Engineer, HVAC Engineer to join our team and help lead department objectives within the mechanical discipline. This is a full-time position aimed at contributing to the design and management of mechanical and piping projects in the pharmaceutical and food & beverage industries. As you progress in this role, you will assume responsibility for managing and developing an engineering and design team.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead projects independently, developing conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for HVAC systems, dust collection, chilled water systems, heating water, and controls.

    + Manage and conduct quality reviews of deliverables and project execution, comprising approximately 50% of the workload.

    + Design mechanical systems such as HVAC, hydronic, and steam systems, also comprising approximately 50% of the workload.

    + Assess project requirements, break them into tasks, and collaborate with Project Managers to determine the scope of work, budget, and staffing.

    + Write the scope of work for mechanical or utility design based on preliminary reviews and meetings with clients.

    + Prepare engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems and analyze the operation of existing systems.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

    + 8+ years of design engineering experience.

    + Experience in engineering consulting within the food and beverage manufacturing or pharmaceutical manufacturing industries.

    + Knowledge of HVAC system design and experience with central utilities including steam, chilled water, and compressed air systems.

    + Solid knowledge of mechanical codes and standards including ASHRAE, ACGIH, and NFPA.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Design of material handling and dust collection systems is an asset.

    + Familiarity with ISPE and HACCP requirements.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Revit.

    Work Environment

    Flexible working conditions with a base in the RTP area. The role involves client interactions and offers the flexibility to work from home, lead a team in the office, and travel as necessary.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
