Description We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Madison, Georgia. This Contract-to-Ongoing position offers the opportunity to contribute to financial operations and support the growth of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor daily checking account activity to ensure accuracy and promptly address discrepancies.

• Receive, review, and process incoming bills, ensuring timely and accurate payment to vendors.

• Make weekly vendor payments every Friday, adhering to established procedures and payment terms.

• Oversee cash flow by tracking and managing incoming and outgoing financial transactions.

• Process payroll bi-monthly, ensuring accurate calculations and timely disbursement of payments.

• Provide support to three team members, offering guidance and addressing inquiries as needed.

• Record financial transactions through journal entries and postings to maintain accurate records.

• Proactively identify and resolve accounting issues, ensuring compliance with financial standards.

• Assist with general office management tasks, such as inventory oversight for various departments.

• Participate in long-term planning and employee development initiatives, contributing to organizational growth. Requirements • Proficiency in accounting software such as AppFolio and QuickBooks.

• Strong experience in billing, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

• Familiarity with automated payroll systems and ability to process payroll accurately.

• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills for handling multiple tasks effectively.

• Strong communication skills for providing support and guidance to team members.

• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Advanced accounting knowledge and experience managing complex financial tasks.
