Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Hauppauge, New York. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee month-end closing procedures, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy.

• Prepare and post journal entries while adhering to accounting standards.

• Conduct account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Manage bank reconciliations to ensure alignment with financial records.

• Utilize Sage Intacct for accounting processes and data management.

• Collaborate with team members to improve financial workflows and reporting.

• Provide support during audits and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.

• Analyze financial data to assist in budgeting and forecasting efforts.

• Monitor and implement best practices in accounting processes. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with nonprofit or government agency experience as a plus.

• Proficiency in month-end close procedures and general ledger management.

• Strong skills in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations.

• Advanced knowledge of Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

• Familiarity with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.

• Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
